Value Filter for YouTube™ — Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026
Value Filter filters and personalizes locally in the browser. It has no developer analytics, advertising, or remote recommendation model.
Data handled on your device
The extension reads visible YouTube metadata needed for its features, including video identifiers, titles, channels, durations, and content-type indicators. Settings may sync through Chrome. Goals, written intentions, ratings, and learned preferences remain in local extension storage. At most 500 recent ratings are retained.
Optional purchase
Personalized learning uses a random 128-bit license ID. If you choose to purchase or verify it, that ID and purchase status are exchanged with Stripe and this license service. Stripe handles payment; Value Filter never receives card details. YouTube activity, titles, channels, goals, ratings, learned preferences, and analytics are never sent to the developer or license service.
Permissions
storage saves settings and local learning data. activeTab reads the current YouTube tab's filter count and supports temporary reveal. Access to youtube.com applies the extension's features. Access to this license-service origin verifies an optional purchase.
Your control
You can pause filtering, erase ratings and learned preferences, restore YouTube defaults, or uninstall the extension. Value Filter uses Google-service information only for its disclosed user-facing purpose and follows the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
